Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), South Korea's largest shipbuilder, has received orders to build LNG carriers.
In a document submitted to the stock exchange on September 2, HHI said the order was submitted by an unnamed shipowner from Oceania, totaling 228.9 billion won ($188.8 million).
The 174,000 cubic metres LNG carrier is scheduled to be delivered by the end of January 2022.
Hyundai Heavy Industries ended the second quarter with a net loss of 233.7 billion won, compared with a profit of 182.8 billion won in the same period last year.
This loss was caused by rising steel plate prices and the one-time cost of HHI 700 employees'retirement plans.
In addition, this result is affected by the decline in global ship orders and trade tensions between the United States and China.
